Behind the wheel
Volkswagen's attention to ergonomics also extends to its commercial vehicles. The cabin area is well laid out and easy to use. Forward and side visibility is also good. Standard fitted equipment is generous, it includes: remote central locking, power steering, reach and rake adjustable steering wheel, heat reflective glass and a large overhead storage area is also present. There is additional cabin storage in the form of a glovebox.
On the Road
The Caddy comes with the option of two diesel engines. A SDI 2.0 normally aspirated diesel with 68bhp. The top top speed is of 88mph. The 1.9 TDI turbo diesel is a lot more punchy. Both engines are fitted with a 5 speed manual gearbox. The caddy drives much like a car, this will suite people who are new to driving vans.
Overview
This is the third generation of the VW Caddy. The previous Caddy was based upon a beefed-up Polo. This new model is developed from modded Touran model, it is for a more spacious cand is a sleeker shape. It offers more loadspace and can cope with greater payloads too.
