Ride & handling
The Astra is possibly the most enjoyable car to drive within its class. The steering system feels very responsive while at the same times provides the driver crisp direction changes. The Astra feels nimble through bends providing a good level of grip. The ride is smooth nearly all surfaces. If you opt for the sportier versions these include a sports suspension which provides a slightly firmer ride.
Refinement
This is one of the Astra's best strengths. We found that road noise seems always subdued. At the same time wind noise is also kept to a low level. The petrol engines rev smoothly and also dont become more vocal when pushed.

The Vauxhall Astra build quality is first rate, it easily rivals its german competitors. All plastics and materials used are very sturdy while at the same time soft to the touch, Vauxhall has a good reputation for building strong, reliable engines, the Astra should continue in this tradition
