Ride & handling
The X-Trail is geared more towards passenger comfort than driving pleasure, with suspension that provides a comfortable ride over any surface, yet allows a fair degree of lean through corners. There's decent grip, and the steering is well weighted. All models have a selectable four-wheel-drive system, while the top two trims feature hill-descent and hill-start systems.
Quality & reliability
The quality materials used is quite impressive, all items have a good solid feel. As with all nissan vehicles, quality is always good - so the X-Trail should not let you down.
Behind the wheel
Drivers should be comfortable in the X-Trail. The steering can be adjusted to your own position. We found the drivers seat also very supportive, it also had good height adjustment settings. The driving view is very clear also. If you decide to pay a little extra you can have a rear view camera fitted.
Equipment
The Nissan X-Trail is available in 3 specs: Trek, Sport & Aventura. They are all well kitted out, even the entry specs: climate control, alloy wheels, Bluetooth & four electric windows. Owners of the sport trim will also get stability control + upgraded four wheel drive system. Larger allow wheels on the sport are also included. The top of the range Aventura will feature full leather seats with electric driver's seat adjustment.
