Cooper S 1.6t 3Dr Review
This is an original & impartial Mini - Cooper S 1.6t 3Dr review, compiled by the team at car contract hire online
.
Ride & handling
It does not matter which Mini you go for, its great fun to drive. There is a strong go-kart feel much like the first mini. It has the kind of grip, poise + agility you get with much more expensive sports cars. The Mini's compact size make it easy to change direction. The steering feels responsive. The mini gives you a firm ride, but its still very comfortable.
Refinement
The Cooper's petrol engines are good around town and don't become coarse when revved hard. Although the wide tyres generate some road noise it is not very loud. The Mini also manages motor-way driving with ease.
Safety & security
Every Mini in the range comes with front, side & cabin-length window airbags. Owners will also get non-skid brakes, these are designed to function mid-bend to stop unsettling the car, ISOFIX child seat mounts are also handy. The Cooper D and Cooper S models are fitted with traction control. Stability control is a upgrade option for all Mini's. The Mini has many security items from BMW, so its never going to be easy to steal!
Quality & reliability
The Mini has a great fun image, the interior trim compliments this. The Mini scored well in JD Power customer satisfaction surveys and should be very reliable.
