The Sport makes a good long-distance cruiser. While the bluff shape and big wheels kick up some wind and road noise, engine noise is subdued and the cabin is a quiet place to be. The controls operate smoothly, although the 4.4’s auto ‘box often sits in a higher gear than you’d like, so can be frustrating.

Equipment
All Sports are very well equipped. Each is fitted with four electric windows, CD player, climate control and electrically powered seats. The S model is fitted with cloth seats. If you upgrade to the SE, owners will gain leather seats, reversing sensors, front foglamps and CD changer. Top of the range HSE & supercharged HST model features Sat Nav and metallic paint.
Space & practicality
The Range Rover Sport can seat four in comfort and as long as their are no large passengers. The head and legroom are in great supply all round. The very large boot also has the added convenience of a separately opening rear screen for smaller items - we found this quite handy.
Performance
There are four engines owners can select from. These include a 188bhp 2.7, 268bhp 3.6-litre turbodiesel. In addition a 295bhp 4.4-litre V8 petrol & supercharged 4.2-litre V8 that outputs up a whopping 385bhp can also be selected.
