. Performance
There are 2 smooth & potent petrol engines buyers can choose from. The first a 153bhp 2.0-litre with 5-speed gearbox. The second a 187bhp 2.4 with 6 speed gearbox. The 2.4 has very strong mid range pulling power. For both engines a 5 speed auto gearbox can be added. There is also a 2.2-litre turbodiesel in the range, this is frugal & good performance.

ride & handling
The Accord steering is alert and is sharp at pace. The chassis also has excellent balance and grip.

Refinement
Honda has few like for like competitors when it comes to making engines. The Accord engine is great with a nice smooth feel. Especially impressive is how well the engines work with the automatic gearbox. The engine, road & wind noise are also very well limited.
