Behind the Wheel
The Doblò Cargo has a great robust feel about its interior, there are also some clever design touches which make it look nice. The gearstick is also mounted at the base of the dashboard, we found this quite a nice position. Some models are also available with different colour combinations that make the interior look more interesting. The driving position is great, included is height adjustment for the seat and the steering wheel. Air conditioning can be fitted as a extra option.
On the Road
The 1.3 Multijet diesel has a nice feel and good power for its engine size, in our opinion this is the best value model. The first 1.2-litre petrol model felt too underpowerd. The Doblò Cargo is a nice drive, there is limited body roll. For users who require extra pulling power, the 1.9-litre model offers good value for money.
Summary
Unlike some of Fiat's other vans the Doblò Cargo is 100% their own work. The Doblo is competing against the likes if the Citroen Berlingo & Renault Kangoo. We feel it is well worth a look. the 1.3 offers a good balance between performance and value for money.
