Behind the Wheel
The Fiat Doblò Cargo has a nice robust feel about its interior, there are also some clever design features. The gearstick is located at the base of the dashboard and a easy to use position. Some models can be available with contrasting colour combinations that make the interior more exciting. The driving position is really good with height adjustment for the seat and steering wheel. Air conditioning is also available as an option.
On the Road
The 1.9 JTD diesel version of the Doblò Cargo are the most satisfying to use, however the 1.3 Multijet diesel has a nice feel. The first 1.2-litre petrol model we feel was too underpowered. The Doblò Cargo is a nice drive, and is quite firm around bends. For extra pulling power, the 1.9-litre is a good option - and still has 40mpg.
Summary
Unlike some of Fiat's vans (such as the projects with Peugeot and Citroen) the Doblò Cargo is 100% Fiat's own work. It is competing against the Citroen Berlingo & Renault Kangoo. In our opinion the Doblo has several features which make it a great option.
